Continental Qualification confirm place for Tokyo 2020 Games
What a great weekend of volleyball we have witnessed as the
qualification for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was complete!
Five of the world’s best volleyball nations secured their
place and now all eyes are on Japan in August.
The men’s national teams of Canada, France, Iran, Tunisia
and Venezuela won their respective pools in the Continental
Tokyo Volleyball Qualification 2020 tournaments.
They will join hosts Japan and the men’s volleyball teams of
Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Poland, Russia and the USA, who
qualified for Tokyo 2020 through the intercontinental
qualification tournaments in August last year.
The women’s national teams of Argentina, the Dominican
Republic, Kenya, Korea and Turkey finished top of their
pools in the women’s event, and will join Brazil, China,
Italy, Russia, Serbia and the USA, who qualified back in
August 2019, alongside Japan as host.
Each team that qualified received a traditional Japanese
Daruma Doll as a symbol of luck and prosperity to accompany
them on their year-long journey to the Japanese capital for
the Olympic Games.
