Costa Rica Celebrates Historic Achievement of Four

Gold Medals at the 2025 Central American Games

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, November 4, 2025. – During the 2025 NORCECA Girls’ U17 Continental Championship, the Costa Rican Volleyball Federation held an emotional tribute to the national teams crowned champions at the 12th Central American Games Guatemala 2025, who achieved an unprecedented milestone by winning four gold medals in volleyball and beach volleyball, both in the women’s and men’s divisions.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished international guests, Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, President of the NORCECA Confederation; Ariel Sainz, First Vice President of NORCECA; and Arateide Cáceres, NORCECA’s General Director.

During the tribute, María José Corrales, President of the Costa Rican Volleyball Federation, congratulated the athletes for their dedication and highlighted the effort and determination that reflect both the Federation’s commitment and the pride of Costa Rican volleyball.

“These medals represent the sacrifice, discipline, and passion of our players, coaches, and leaders. Thank you for bringing honor to the name of Costa Rica,” expressed Corrales.

For his part, Cristóbal Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA, called for applause for the champions and emphasized the magnitude of their achievement:

“Never before has any country won four gold medals in a single multi-sport event. This result is the fruit of hard work and perseverance. Keep moving forward, no matter how high the wall may seem; you have already proven that it’s possible.”

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates of recognition to the medal-winning players and coaches, in an atmosphere filled with pride and celebration that reaffirmed Costa Rica’s leadership in Central American volleyball.
