all scorers with 14 points, followed by her teammate Isla
Johnson with 11 points; Nayoisse Campbell captain of Panama
topped with three points.
Nayoisse Campbell captain of Panama spoke about the positive
things for them, “we scored some points thru spikes, but on the
negative side is that Costa Rica’s outside offense really hurt
us”.
Tamara Espinoza, captain of Costa Rica said her team was focused
on being alert the entire match and our attacking even though
many of us were nervous as it was our first match.
Clarke Eliot, Panama’s coach said “in practice we worked on our
defense because unfortunately we only have two outside hitters,
nothing worked well for us, we were trying to make tea but it
turned out to be chocolate; players that didn’t do well
yesterday, did today”.
Costa Rica’s coach said that it is important to begin with a
win, “today we had a strong performance over the net, but we had
too many errors, our opponents scores five or six points and the
rest we gave away and we are far from perfection which will show
against stronger opponents”.
On Tuesday, Costa Rica will face El Salvador who come from a
difficult match against Honduras. |
