SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, August 18, 2022.
The Costa Rican national team won 3-0
(25-15/25-21/25-18) against its counterpart from
El Salvador in the last game of the second day
of competition at the V Central American U23
Men's Championship.
For the first set, the Costa Rican National Team
outscored the hosts by 10 points, ending the set
25-15.
For the second set, El Salvador at times led the
Costa Ricans, making the match exciting for the
local fans at the Palacio de los Deportes in San
Salvador. The second set favored the Ticos
25-21.
In the third set the Costa Ricans dominated the
game, which would end with partial 25-18.
Josué Rojas scored 11 points and Dowshel Smith
10 points as the best scorers for Costa Rica and
for El Salvador, Abner Cano and Diego Navarro
scored 10 points each.
Attacks 26-24 and blocks 11-6 were dominated by
Costa Rica, while serves favored El Salvador
7-6. Costa Rica had 32 errors in favor of the
opponent and they committed 17.
Costa Rica thus achieved its first victory and
El Salvador was left with a defeat and a
victory.
The locals will play this Friday the 19th at
7:30 pm against Nicaragua, while Costa Rica will
play at 5:00 pm against Honduras.

to the coaches we managed to control it, we
obeyed the orders that were given to us, we
always kept our spirits up, wanting to get the
game out, and always thinking about what What

"Today's game was very difficult, we knew it was
a very difficult team with which we were going
