        Costa Rica earns second victory 
        
        
          
        
        
        BELIZE CITY, Belize, July 18, 2023. 
        Costa Rica earned their second victory at the XIV U19 Women's AFECAVOL 
        Central American Championship, on this occasion 3-0 (25-16/25-19/25-14) 
        against Honduras. 
        
        
          
        
        
        In the first set Honduras showed they were eager to win, an 8-1 lead put 
        the defending Central American champion Costa Rica in trouble, but they 
        recovered quickly with a 9 points advantage, finishing the set 25-16.
         
        
        
          
        
        
        Honduras finished down by six points in the second set, which ended 
        25-19. The third set was the definitive one, Costa Rica won by a 
        difference of 11 points, 25-14.  
        
        
          
        
        
        Costa Rica’s team captain, opposite Angélica Rodríguez scored 11 points 
        in her team’s victory, on 9 attacks, 1 block and 1 ace, her teammate, 
        middle blocker Nhya Barley scored 9 points, from 7 kills, 1 block and 1 
        serve.  
        
        
          
        
        
        Honduras leading scorer was middle blocker Natalia Aguilar with 9 
        points, on 4 attacks, 3 blocks and 2 serves, her teammate, also middle 
        blocker, Isabella García scored 8 points, all from attacks.  
        
        
          
        
        
        Costa Rica dominated 30-21 in attacks, 14-5 in serves and 5-3 in blocks. 
        Honduras scored 20 points from opponent errors and Costa Rica 26 points 
        on errors from Honduras.  
        
        
          
        
        
        On Wednesday 19, Costa Rica will meet with Nicaragua at 2:30pm and
