Dowshel Mc Donald Smith, captain of Costa Rica: “The team
was very good today, we anticipated the opponent, we
analyzed it and we did very well with the result. The
attitude was what helped us get ahead, we are here to give
more and we are going for this championship. ”
Alberto Blanco, coach of Costa Rica: “After the result of
Guatemala against Nicaragua, which we did not expect to win
3-0, today's game was presented as a final, it was the team
to beat and we concentrated, we trained a lot, what was
planned We did well, especially the blockade and that they
did not harm us in Zone 4. I think it was the best game in
the 4 months of preparation. We have tried to motivate them,
but the mental part is fundamental, that they behave on the
court as professional players. ”
Luis Fernando Castañeda, coach of Guatemala: “We had many
mistakes, the boys did not enter as in the previous game,
the Costa Rican team was superior, they have a nice team, we
made too many mistakes, we entered the field cold. It was
the most important game so far, fighting first place, but
it's over, you have to focus on the matches that come to be
on the podium. ”
Costa Rica will face El Salvador on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.,
while Guatemala plays Belize at 3:00 p.m.
