Costa Rican Women qualify to Inter-Zonal NORCECA Continental Cup
MANAGUA, Nicaragua, May 2, 2019. – Costa Rica qualified to the
Inter-Zonal Women’s NORCECA Continental Cup, the second phase of
the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup qualifier to the 2020 Tokyo
Olympic Games, beating Guatemala 2-0 at the AFECAVOL zonal
phase.
The women’s series between the Costa Rica and Guatemala, started
the third stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour in Paseo
Xolotlan Stadium, in Managua.
Valeria Valenciano/Marcela Araya of Costa Rica beat Paola
Alvarado and Estefania Bethancourt of Guatemala, for 2-0 (21-11,
21-15). Then, Costa Ricans Katherine Quesada/ Eugenia Ramírez
got a victory over Laura Quinoñes and Martha Guillermo by 2-0
(21-5, 21-12).
Costa Rica joins Nicaragua already qualified to the second phase
of the NORCECA Continental Cup as the number one seed in
AFECAVOL.
