Countries ready to face the XIV AFECAVOL U19 Women's Central American Championship

 

BELIZE CITY, Belize, July 14, 2023.- The seven participating countries of the XIV AFECAVOL Women's U-19 Central American Championship are ready and this Saturday they successfully passed the preliminary interviews.

 

The interview itinerary was developed with Belize being the first selection to face them, followed by Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

 

On July 14, the teams also had scheduled the inspection of

court and facilities at the Belize City Civic Center, where they will compete for the Central American title U-19 between July 16 to July 22, 2023.

 

For the first time in its entirety in Belize, the competition will have the participation of the seven Central American countries.

 

INTERVIEWS

 

José Fontes, coach Belize: We are going to have a very nice competition in Belize, our main expectation is that our team achieves a great result.  We are optimistic, we think first of a medal, our athletes are aspiring for the maximum medal, which is gold”.

 

Julio Domínguez, coach Guatemala: "Our objective is to have the possibility of fighting for first place. We bring a joint objective which is to do our best in order to establish a development opportunity again."

 

Sady López, coach El Salvador: “Our objective is to place ourselves on the podium, we come to give our best, the best effort of each one of the athletes and try to meet our goal!

 

Marcos Sugiyama, Honduras coach: "The goal is to get close to other countries that win the Central American championships, I will try to get close with the players."

 

Claudia Noguera, coach Nicaragua: "In this competition we plan to excel in the ranking of past years, we have thought of a good team to do it and we hope to have a good competition."

 

Edivaldo Bonilla, Costa Rica coach: "We come to ratify the championship achieved in 2019, this time with more training, we participated in the Norceca of Mexico and Puerto Rico and the idea is to win."

 

Jonathan Caballero, coach Panama: "Our expectations for the tournament is to be on the podium and with the process we bring, new players and give Panama what it deserves"
