Course for Phys Ed Teachers opens in Tortola
TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands, October 4, 2013 – An
International Course for Physical Education Teachers opened in
Tortola on Friday under the auspices of the NORCECA
Confederation through the Regional Development Center in
Dominican Republic.
Twenty-one teachers from British Virgin Islands, Belize,
Anguilla, Montserrat, St Kitts & Nevis, St Vincent & Grenadines
and U.S. Virgin Islands.
The agenda of the course covers four days with practical and
theoretical sessions focused on the way to initiate the students
in the practice of volleyball and to teach the basic technical
and tactical fundaments.
The opening ceremony took place in the afternoon hours of Friday
at the Road Town Multi-Purpose Complex in Tortola in the
presence of Sabinah Clement, president of the British Virgin
Islands Volleyball Federation, Tony Westman, the instructor of
the course designated by FIVB, Serwin Scatliffe, director of the
local Phsyical Education teachers, and Yohanna Mota Moreno, vice
director of the Regional Development Center.
The seminar forms part of the development plan of NORCECA
Confederation in coordination with the International Volleyball
Federation (FIVB). |
