recovered from losing the first set and beat
Bahrain 3-1 (26-28, 25-21, 27-25, 25-23) in
Group H of the FIVB Volleyball U21 Men's
Championship.
Victor Andreu led five Cuban attackers who
finished the game with double figures in scoring
with a maximum of 17 points, followed by José
Miguel Gutierrez with a contribution of 15.
Reynier Ibar had 14 and Miguel González and
Alexei Ramírez each contributed 13.
Canada claimed a forfeit victory over Cameroon
3-0 (25-0, 25-0, 25-0).
In the medal matches round, Poland bounced back
from a two-set deficit to defeat hosts Bulgaria
by 3-2 (21-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-12) and
advance to the semifinals.
Also, Russia downed Brazil by a 3-0 (27-25,
25-21, 31-29), Argentina claimed a 3-1 victory
(25-21, 23-25, 25-19, 25-21) against Belgium and
Italy defeated Czechia 3-0 (25-19, 25-18,
