we played much better than yesterday, but we made a lot of
mistakes and we hope to improve in our next match against
Colombia.”
Caridad Matienzo, captain of Cuba said: “Venezuela played a
great game. We knew that they would not give any points easily.
We had to work with strong plays, with a good service strategy
and with a high jump over the net.”
Sergio Rivero, coach of Venezuela: “Congratulations to Cuba, my
native country. Venezuela came to this competition without
previous preparation. I think we can give more.
We faced a very strong cuban team.”
Juan Carlos Gala, coach of Cuba: “We know that it was going to
be tough. Mi colleague (Sergio Rivero) and I have worked
together. We know each other, but we lent him to Venezuela. The
both of us played based in a serving strategy. The first two
sets were very tight. We have a very young team, that sometimes
have their ups and downs. |
