Cuba loss against China, end with six points
WROCLAW, Poland, September 14, 2014 – China erased a 2-1 deficit
and progressed to a 3-2 (19-25, 25-20, 18-25, 25-20, 15-11)
victory over Cuba in the last match of the FIVB Men’s World
Championship at Centennial Hall of Wroclaw on Sunday.
Both sides finished with 2-5 win-loss records but Cuba gained 6
points from those matches to only four by China. China’s Zhong
Weijun notched 20 points as the leading scorer of the match,
followed by teammate Ji Daoshuai who finished with 18. Cuba’s
Osmany Uriarte had 13 points while Rolando Cepeda and Felix
Chapman registered with 12 and 11, respectively.
It was the first match between the two sides at the World
Championship. China won their last two matches in the
tournament. Cuba have now won 12 of 16 meetings with China in
major competitions. |
