LA ROMANA, Dominican Republic, May 13, 2015 – Cuba outplayed
Dominican Republic 3-1 (25-18, 14-25, 25-13, 25-23) as the
friendly men’s volleyball series continued at Max Simon Pavilion
of La Romana on Wednesday.
It was the third victory in a row for Cuba, represented by its
“B” squad while the Dominican side consists of up and coming
prospects.
The series sponsored by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation of
the Dominican Republic in collaboration with the by the
Dominican Volleyball Federation.
Abraham Alfonso and Luis Sosa had 15 and 13 points,
respectively, while Henry Lopez and Jonathan Mercedes finished
with 17 and 12 in the loss.
The seven-match tour around the Dominican Republic continues on
Thursday at Calero Pavilion of Santo Domingo province with the
fourth encounter.
The Ministry of Sports and Recreation has assumed as a mission
the expansion of the practice and development of men’s
volleyball in the Dominican Republic.
