Cuban Allen sets new record of blocking

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 26, 2019 – On Wednesday afternoon the Chilean Vicente Valenzuela scored six blocks to tie with Mexican Zamudio Rodríguez for the record in a single game at the U19 Boys’ Pan American Volleyball Cup.

On Thursday, the Cuban Luis Vidal Allen went one step further to take sole possession of the mark with the 7 he registered in the victory over the Dominican Republic in straight sets. Cuba finished the march with 8 as a team

Allen leads the department in the third edition of the event with 9 blocks which is two more than Valenzuela.

He has contributed with more than 33% to the leading total of 24 of Cuba as a team in two outings.
