Cuban Mireya Luis nominated to FIVB Board

 

   

LAUSANNE, Switzerland, April 6, 2016 – The candidates for the FIVB Board of Administration minority gender election, which will take place at the 2016 FIVB Congress on October 5, were unanimously approved by the FIVB Board of Administration on the opening day of its two-day meeting at the FIVB headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland on Wednesday.

 

The candidates for the minority gender positions (two to be elected) on the FIVB Board of Administration 2016-2020 are the following:

 

Mireya Luis Hernandez (Cuba). Ms Luis Hernandez is the beach volleyball director of the Cuban Volleyball Federation, three-time Olympic volleyball champion and IOC Athlete Commission member.

 

Bouchra Hajij (Morocco). Ms Hajij is the President of the Morocco Volleyball Federation and a former Morocco national volleyball player.

 

Judith Rodriguez (Venezuela). Ms Rodriguez is the President of the Venezuela Volleyball Federation.

 

Rita Subowo (Indonesia). Mrs Subowo is an FIVB Executive Vice-President.

 

Margaret Ann Fleming (Scotland). Ms Fleming is the Chief Executive Officer of the Scotland Volleyball Federation.


The Advisory Election Committee was also presented to the FIVB Board of Administration as per the following:

The FIVB Congress - the 34th since the first held in Paris, France in 1947 - will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina from October 4-6.
