De la Cruz named
MVP of Dominican League
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican
Republic, April 22, 2019 – Bethania de la Cruz was awarded on
Monday as the most valuable player of the Dominican Volleyball
Women’s League.
De la Cruz, whose team Mirador
swept defending champions Caribeñas in the best-of-five final
series after going 8-1 to lead the regular season, was also
selected as best attacker.
Teammates Natalia Martínez was
the best server and Yaneiris Rodriguez took home the plaques as
best receiver, best digger and best libero.
Marifranchi Rodriguez and
Yocaty Pérez of Cristo Rey were recognized as best blocker and
best setter, respectively.
Erasma Moreno of Caribeñas was
the total best scorer, Wagner Pacheco the coach of the year and
Romina Cornelio of Cristo Rey was selected Rookie of the Year.
The ceremony was chaired by
Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, president of NORCECA and First Executive
Vice President of FiVB, Ramon Garcia, president of the Dominican
Federation and Angel Rivas president of the National District
Association and league’s president. |
