Defending Champions Antigua and Barbuda Edge Grenada
to Advance on Day 3 of 2026 ECVA Championship
TORTOLA, British Virgin Islands, August 14,
2026.- Day 3 of men's competition at the 2026 Eastern
Caribbean Senior Volleyball Championship saw defending champions
Antigua and Barbuda punch their ticket to the next round in
Tortola.
Antigua and Barbuda's men edged out Grenada in a
nail-biting 5-set battle, winning 3-2 (21-25, 25-23, 21-25,
25-19, 15-9) to secure their spot in the next round of the 2026
ECVA Volleyball Championship.
Dominica's men battled tough in four sets,
defeating BVI 3-1 (25-18, 25-18, 15-25, 25-15).
Bermuda's men defeated Anguilla in straight sets,
3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-21).
Saint Lucia's men opened Day 3 action with a 3-1
win over St. Vincent (17-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-19), dropping the
opening set before winning the next three to close out the
match.
Speaking after the match, Antigua and Barbuda
team captain Cairon Davis said it had been a rough tournament,
not what the team expected, but that they nonetheless got the
win.
The championship continues through August 16 at
the Multipurpose Complex in Tortola, BVI, with more matches
scheduled for Day 4.
Tomorrow's games will be crucial, as the results
will determine which teams advance to the semifinals and finals.
