POINTE-A - PITRE, Guadeloupe, June 16, 2013 - Dominica came from
a set down to defeat Grenada 3-1 (21-25, 25-17, 25-22 and 25-19)
in the 5th match of the World Championship Qualification Group
N.
Team Dominica had three guys in Lincoln Riviere, David Toussaint
and Julian Seraphine led the scoring with 7 points each. Shayne
Guiste supported with a contribution of 6 points.

9 of which were spikes. He was assisted by Jonell Phillip with
11 points inclusive of 8 spikes.
At the end of the first set the Dominican coach (Robert Guiste)
made a bold move by replacing most of his regular starters with
the reserves. This move he later admitted may have accounted for
the come from behind victory.
"The second team seems to have a good chemistry between them and
as a result they won a lot of points. They always want to prove
a point and so they play with energy and drive and this may have
proved too much for the opponents
Coach of the Grenada team was upbeat in defeat. I must say I am
quite satisfied with the way the guys played showing great
commitment. We have been plagued by injuries that have left us
with a 7 man roster. Added to that one of our key outside
attackers has had to play the role of setter and this has
adversely affected our attack and team balance.
Dominica looks forward with confidence to the bronze medal match
where they will meet Grenada again, and will back themselves
against an excellent track record against them. Grenada on the
other hand will continue to nurse their injured while pour in
their best effort with all the charges that are left |
