Dominican Contreras tallies 30 points against Trinidad and
Tobago
MEXICO CITY, Mexico, August 24, 2013 - Elvis Contreras scored 30
points in the victory of Dominican Republic over Trinidad and
Tobago 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-14) at VIII Men’s Pan American
Volleyball Cup.
Contreras also registered 3 aces for the Dominican Team that
finished in sixth place, while Simon Blake concluded with 11
points for the Trinidadian squad, that concluded seventh.
“Congratulations to Dominican Republic. I saw a very high level
tournament and this is good for the future of Norceca and the
Pan American region. I liked the atmosphere here in Mexico and
definitively will be back”, said Gideon Dickson, coach of
Trinidad and Tobago.
“Mexico is lovely this is my second time here I like the way
people supported Volleyball”, stated Trinidadian captain Nolan
Tash.
“We couldn’t achieve the expectation of repeating with a medal,
we struggled on defense and we tried to give more game to Elvis
Contreras in this match,” said coach Osiel Vazquez of Dominican
Republic.
“It was easy but could not accomplish our goal like last year in
Santo Domingo, now we will prepare for the Norceca Continental
championship and we have three weeks for that”, said José
Caceres, captain Jose Caceres. |
