Dominican Natalia Martinez wins MVP Award
LIMA, Peru, September 9, 2018 – Dominican Natalia Martinez was
head and shoulders above all the players who participated in the
II Women’s Volleyball Final Four Cup won by her team on Sunday
night with a victory over Argentina.
Martinez took home the awards as best server, best outside
hitter and best scorer and capped the accolades earning the
trophy as most valuable player of the tournament. Natalia scored
80 points in four matches and landed 18 serving aces.
Two other Dominicans – Geraldine Gonzalez and Yaneirys Rodríguez-
were named first middle blocker and best digger, respectively.
Cuban Ailama Cese was the second outside hitter.
Peruvians Flavia Montes was recognized as second middle blocker
while teammate Giuliana Bocanegra earned the award as best
libero.
Argentineans Melisa Corzo, Victoria Mayer and Candela Salinas
took home the trophies as best opposite hitter, best setter and
best receiver, respectively. |
