Dominican Prisilla Rivera the MVP at CACG Barranquilla
BARRANQUILLA, Colombia, July 25, 2018. - Dominican Prisilla
Rivera was named the Most Valuable Player of the women’s
volleyball tournament of the 2018 Barranquilla XXIII Central
American and Caribbean Games at Humberto Perea Coliseum.
Prisilla’s physical and commanding presence on the court carried
her team to win their fifth consecutive Central American and
Caribbean title.
The Dominican Republic had other players awarded for their
outstanding performance. Brenda Castillo was named the Best
Libero and Best Digger; Gaila González the Best Opposite and
Lisvel Eve Mejía the Second Best Middle Blocker.
Colombian silver medalists Maria Alejandra Marin received the
award as Best Setter, while Amanda Coneo was handed two
individual recognitions as second Best Wing Spiker and Best
Receiver.
From Trinidad and Tobago, Channon Thompson was the Best Wing
Spiker of the event; Sinead Jack the Best Middle Blocker and
Esdelle Krystle named the Best Server.
Andrea Rangel of Mexico was the Best Scorer.
