Dominican Republic, United States and Canada advance to the semifinals
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 6, 2024.- The teams from the
Dominican Republic, the United States and Canada made their way to the
semifinal of the first stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour 2024
after winning their respective quarterfinal matches this Saturday at the
event held on the sand courts installed on Güibia beach on the Santo
Domingo boardwalk.
The Dominican duo Hayerlin De Jesús/Oscar Martínez advanced after
beating in an electrifying game the pair of Tyler Penberthy/Bryce Mayer
of the Virgin Islands 2-0 (28-26,25-23), while the Canadians Jake
McNeil/William Russell beat their counterparts Arran Chambers/Steven
Abrams with a score of 2-0 (21-17, 21-16).
The Americans Robert Harrison/Evan Cory moved on to the next stage,
beating Ricardo Galindo/Isaías Aguirre of Mexico 2-0 (21-15, 22-20),
meanwhile the couple of Timothy Brewster/Kyle Friend also from the
United States placed in the Semifinal defeating the Costa Ricans Daniel
Dyner/Jhostin Varela 2-1 (21-14, 20-22,15-7).
The semifinals, the Bronze medal match and the Grand Final will be
played this Sunday starting at 8 am.
