Dominican Writers Association recognizes Development Center

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 15, 2017 – The Dominican Sports Writers Association presented a plaque of recognition the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Volleyball Center in the Dominican Republic as part of its annual gala of awards.

The award lauds the work of the center as the most outstanding sport educational institution in the country and an example of organization of volleyball at national and international levels.

Ramon Cuello, president of the association stated that “it constitutes an honor to recognize the work done by this Development Center which is celebrating 20 years after being founded by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and NORCECA Confederation.”

Nelson Ramirez, director of the center, expressed his gratitude for the award saying that “for these long 20 years we have done a strong effort to achieve the projected objectives as it is the education and capacitation of the volleyball family and the sport in general.”

The Development Center was founded in 1997 and since then more than 5,000 people have received all sort of training in the areas of sport and Physical Education.
