Dominicans are 4-0 in AAU Tournament

ORLANDO, Florida, June 24, 2017 – The Dominican Republic U20 National Team won two more matches on Saturday against China and Colombia at the AAU Open Volleyball Tournament taking place at Disneyworld.

The Dominicans, who sit in first place Pool A at 4-0, are preparing to take part in the FIVB U20 World Championship next month in Veracruz, Mexico as defending champions.

The team coached by Alexandre Ceccato and Cristian Cruz defeated China 2-0 (25-19, 25-17) and came back to beat Colombia 2-0 (25-11, 25-14).

Madeline Guillen led the victory over Colombia with 10 points, followed by Yanlis Feliz and Vielka Peralta with 9 points apiece and Yaneiris Rodriguez and Geraldine Gonzalez wiyh 7 and 6, respectively.

Guillen also led the win against China with 12 points. Feliz added 10 and Peralta and Gonzalez each contributed 8 points.
