RIMINI, Italy, June 1, 2021 - Brayelin Martínez
and Yonkaira Peña scored 16 points each leading
the Dominican Republic to a 3-0 (25-23, 28-26,
25-18) victory over South Korea in the Women’s
Volleyball Nations League of the FIVB on
Tuesday.
It was the second victory against three defeats
for the Dominican side that a day before had
succumbed in five sets to the representative of
Belgium.
Gaila González contributed 15 points to the
Dominican victory, and middle blockers Annerys
Vargas and JIneiry Martínez added 6 and 4,
respectively.
For Korea, Yeon Koung Kim was the best attacker
with 14 points and Jeongah Park added 9 points.
The winners led in attacks 49-35 and also in
blocks 6-4. The losers had a 5-4 margin in
serves.
It is the Dominican Republic's third consecutive
victory over South Korea in official
competitions, raising their mark to 7-4 in those
confrontations. |
