Dominicans fall to Poland in first match of VNL week 2
HONG KONG, China, June 13, 2023.- Dominican Republic fell against Poland
1-3 (23-25, 28-30, 25-23, 17-25)
on Tuesday in Hong Kong.
Poland led 61-55 in kills and 14-8 in blocks; both teams scored three
points from serves and Dominican Republic committed fewer errors 25-27.
Outside hitter Brayelin Martinez led Dominican Republic’s attacks
scoring 21 points on 19 kills and two blocks. Other two players
collected double digits, opposite hitter Gaila Gonzalez with 19 points
(17 kills, one block, one ace) and outside hitter Yonkaira Peña with 14
(12 kills, one block, one ace).
Dominican Republic will get back on court on Thursday June 15 against
VNL 2022 champion Italy. |
