Dominicans improve to 2-0 at U20
CORDOBA, Mexico, July 15, 2017 – Defending champions Dominican
Republic scored their second victory in as many tries with a 3-0
(25-20, 25-8, 25-19) win over Peru at the U20 FIVB Women’s World
Championship on Saturday.
Vielka Peralta and Madeline Guillen had 19 and 12 points,
respectively, while Leslie Leyva finished with 10 points for
Peru.
In another match, United States swept Cuba 3-0 (31-29, 25-20,
25-23) to even their record at 1-1 while Cuba dropped to 0-2.
Brionne Butler and Lead Edmond each had 12 points for the United
States while Heidy Casanova finished while Heidy Casanova
finished with 23 points for the defeated side.
In the last match of Saturday, Russia beat Mexico 3-1 (25-15,
23-25, 25-17, 25-14). The winners improved to 2-0 and the losers
are now at 1-1.
Maria Vorobyeva and Anna Kotikova each had 16 points for Russia
while Uxue Guereca and Karla Mireles had 9 apiece for Mexico. |
