Dominicans seeking for their fifth title at the upcoming U23 Women’s Pan
American Cup
HERMOSILLO, Mexico, July 15, 2023.- Reigning champions Dominican
Republic will be seeking for their fifth consecutive title at the U23
Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup to be held from July 18 to 23 at the
Sonora Arena in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
Four-time defending champions Dominican Republic have won the event in
as many editions since its inception in 2012. Argentina, Brazil,
Colombia, and Peru have one silver medal each, while Cuba has finished
third in the past three editions. Argentina also has one bronze medal.
The 2023 U23 Women’s Pan American Cup marks the beginning of the
qualification process towards the 2025 Pan American Junior Games.
Two (2) vacancies will be granted here in Hermosillo, in the final
ranking of the event among NORCECA teams for the 2025 Pan American
Junior Games. The South American Volleyball Confederation, CSV, will
establish its own qualification system.
The eight participating teams have been divided in two pools, with Pool
A consisting of Canada, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Peru; while host
Mexico is joined by Argentina, Costa Rica and Honduras in Pool B.
