VALLEDUPAR, Colombia, July 1, 2022 – Madeline
Guillen and Natalia Martinez led a powerful
offense as Dominican Republic trounced Venezuela
3-0 (25-11, 25-8, 25-13) to start the women’s
volleyball tournament of the Juegos Bolivarianos
Valledupar 2022.
While Guillen stood out as the main attacker in
the first set, it was Martinez in the second who
dominated with her potent serves and spikes.
Venezuela took an early lead in the third set
only to see the Dominicans coming back behind
the spikes down the center by middle blockers
Estefany Rabit and Alondra Tapia.
In the other match of day one, Colombia blanked
Bolivia 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-9). |
