SAN JUAN DEL SUR, Nicaragua, May 16, 2026.-
The
Canadian duo Darby Dunn/Alison McKay will attempt to reach their
third consecutive final on the 2026 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour
when they face Julibeth Payano/Bethania Almanzar of the Dominican
Republic in the semifinals at San Juan del Sur.
Dunn/McKay arrive in strong form after advancing undefeated through
pool play with three victories and defeating Dominicans Crismil
Paniagua/Asmabeth Infante 2-0 (21-16, 21-10) in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, Payano/Almanzar secured their semifinal spot with a 2-0
(21-18, 21-8) win over Costa Rica’s Aliza Aguilar/Laura Molina.
In
the other semifinal, Mexico’s Susana Torres/Abril Flores will face
USA’s María Belén Castillo/Kahlee York. Torres/Flores advanced after
defeating Socorro López/Lolette Rodríguez 2-0 (21-12, 21-14), while
Castillo/York eliminated Guatemala’s Naomi Monney/Paola Alvarado 2-0
(21-12, 21-7).
The
semifinals will begin at 9:30 a.m., starting with the Dominican
Republic vs. United States match, followed by Mexico vs. Canada. The
final is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
