Eight teams to attend First NORCECA Girls’ U17 Championship in Honduras

TEGUCIGALPA, November 19, 2023.- Eight teams will attend the first edition of the Girls’ Volleyball U17 NORCECA Continental Championship in Tegucigalpa, Honduras from November 21-26 a qualifying event to the first ever U17 World Championship.

The U17 NORCECA Championship comes in compliance with the qualification process towards the inaugural edition of the FIVB U17 World Championship to be held in 2024.

The top three finishers of the event will earn a slot to the 2024 FIVB Girls’ U17 World Championship.

Teams are distributed in two pools, with hosts Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Puerto Rico in Pool A, and Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba and Dominican Republic in Pool B.

At the conclusion of pool-play, the first ranked team from each pool will qualify directly to the semifinals, while second and third placed teams will compete in the quarterfinal round.

The preliminary inquiry will take place on November 20, the competition starts on November 21 at Jorge Galeano Gymnasium in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, with four daily matches.
