SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, October 4, 2019.-

Championship being held at FESAVOL Gymnasium of San
Salvador.
El Salvador had a rocky beginning but stepped up with the
crowds support to improve their record 3-1 and add five
points for an overall 13 ranking points to move in third
place of the competition that concludes on Sunday.

On day six of competition El Salvador (3-1) faces defending
champion Nicaragua (4-0) and Belize (0-5) has the day off.
Diego Guidos, Captain of El Salvador: “Yesterday’s rest
helped some players recover and determine our strategy for
our last matches. Today we followed instructions better, we
were disciplined and we hope for a good result for what’s
left. We are capable, we are prepared, in good physical
condition and the crowd’s support is crucial to motivate us
to battle for every point”.
Kaelen Ingram, best scorer of Belize: “El Salvador is a very
good team; they have a lot of communication. Although we had
a lot of mistakes, we did a good job. We tried to put
pressure in the serves and that is why we missed so many.
Belize definitely needs to improve in serving, passing and
more cooperation. Tomorrow we will practice hard and rest to
get prepared to face our last opponent Nicaragua who has a
very good defense; we will try to get our act together”.
Alexander Polanco, Head Coach of El Salvador: “Our serves
improved, sometimes we pressure in taking risks and the
probabilities of failing are high, we tried not to fail that
much like in our last performance. I am satisfied with the
victory and how the guys are taking in the experience, they
have a short time practicing volleyball and we are looking
to have them for a long process”.
