El Salvador defeats Belize in five thrilling sets

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, September 8, 2017.- El Salvador defeated Belize in five thrilling sets (25-20, 21-25, 25-22, 25-27, 15-11) earning their first victory at the XVII AFECAVOL U-21 Men’s Central American Championship at INC Volleyball venue in Managua, Nicaragua.

El Slavador has one victory and for losses, while Belize has an uncomfortable position with no wins and 5 losses. Both will finish the event on Saturday facing Nicaragua, Belize at 12:30 and El Salvador at 19:30.

El Salvador balanced their offense between Diego Asencio (19), Josue Palma (15), Alejandro Reyes (13) Diego Guidos (12) and Salvador Quan (10). Belize worked with stronsg spikers Francis Hauze on 17 points, Michael Jenkins on 16 and Anselmo Rivero on 15 points.

El Salvador overwhelming 62-46 margin in spikes controlled Belize, they also finished with 6-2 margin in serves. Belize was better in blocking 10-6.
