El
Salvador to Host the Central American
U17
and U19 Beach Volleyball Championships
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, April 27, 2026.-
El
Salvador is set to host a new edition of the AFECAVOL Central
American U17 and U19 Beach Volleyball Championships, which will be
held simultaneously at the Beach Sports Stadium in San Salvador from
May 1 to 3.
The
event marks a milestone as it will be held for the first time
outside Costa Rica, which had previously hosted all past editions,
reflecting the growth and expansion of beach volleyball in the
region.
This
competition represents the third edition of the U17 tournament and
the fourth of the U19, categories that continue to establish
themselves as key platforms for the development of young talent in
Central America.

In
the most recent edition, held in 2024, El Salvador and Costa Rica
shared top honors. Salvadoran players Fátima Rendón and Dévora
Medina claimed the U17 women’s title, while Costa Ricans Cristian
Oporta and Ángel Carranza won the men’s division. Meanwhile, Costa
Rica asserted its dominance in the U19 category, capturing both
titles with the duos of Valentina Molina and Sofía Vega, and Julián
Araya and Stanley.
For
this edition, in addition to host country El Salvador, teams from
Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua will compete in a
tournament that promises a high level of play and intense battles
for regional titles.
The
arrival of delegations is scheduled for Wednesday, April 29, while
the preliminary inquiry, team registration, and court
familiarization will take place on Thursday, April 30. Competition
will begin on Friday, May 1, and conclude on Sunday, May 3. |
