El Salvador wins and is in the fight for the Bronze
TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, July 19, 2019 - El Salvador defeated
Belize 3-2 (25-14, 25-22, 16-25, 21-25, 15-11) and gets into the
fight for the Bronze in the 18th Central American Women's U-20
Championship, held at Gym # 2 Jorge Galeano in the city of
Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
The victory leaves El Salvador in direct fight for the Bronze
with Costa Rica tomorrow Saturday. Both teams are tied in games
won and lost (2-2) and the winner of the direct duel between
them will define who steps on the podium of the tournament.
The Salvadorans knew how to take advantage of the 55 unforced
errors that Belize committed, being more efficient with only 23
errors.
Daniela Sanchez, captain of El Salvador, led the attack again
with 17 points, supported by Daniela Lopez who contributed 11
pointsto the victory. While Belize refocused their attack on
Fautomata Camara (31 points) and Gareth Bruce (29 points).
Incredibly, Belize dominated all areas of attack, in shots they
had an advantage of 52-37, in blocks the advantage was 14-4 and
in services the advantage was 8-6. |
