PUERTO CORTES, Honduras, June 13, 2015 – The women’s semifinals
of the XV Central American Beach Volleyball Championship are set
following Saturday’s actions at Playas Municipales of Puerto
Cortés, Honduras.
The duos of Costa Rica-1 (Natalia Alfaro/Karen Cope), Nicaragua
1 (Lolette Rodríguez/Elia Machado) and the two teams of El
Salvador, the number one of Ivonne Soler/Laura Molina and the
second of María Fernanda Vargas/Kathya Vásquez reached the final
four phase of the event.
The Central American defending champions Alfaro/Cope outlasted
in quarterfinals the number two team of Nicaragua (Claudia
Machado/Swan Mendoza) 2-0 (21-14, 21-10) and will play Soler/Molina
who eliminated Panamanians Hashlyn Cuero/Kihary Perez 2-0
(21-18, 21-13).
In the other quarterfinals, the Nicaraguan pair of Rodríguez/Machado
didn’t have complications to get the victory over the second
team of Costa Rica (Eugenia Ramírez/Yuliana González) 2-0
(21-16, 21-18) and will play the second team of El Salvador
(Vargas/Vasquez) who benefited from a default against the
Orellana sisters of Guatemala (María José/María André) due to an
injury sustained by the eldest of the siblings.
