Enright carries Puerto Rico to win over Croatia

VARAZDIN, Croatia, July 23, 2017 – Stephanie Enright amassed 24 points to lead Puerto Rico to a 3-2 (19-25, 20-25, 26-24, 25-19, 6-15) victory over Croatia.

It was the seventh consecutive defeat for Croatia while Puerto Rico finished with a 5-4 win-loss record in Group 2 of the World Grand Prix.

Jennifer Quesada and Shirley Ferrer each had 13 points for the winners while Daly Santana added 10 points. On the losing side Samanta Fabris registered match high 19 markers.

In Richmond, Canada, the Czech Republic with solid contribution from Marie Toufarova won their last FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2017 match before hosting the Group 2 finals in Ostrava next weekend. On Sunday, the Czechs claimed a 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 17-25, 25-16) victory at Canada.

Toufarova and Canada’s Kyla Richey, with 16 points each, became the best scorers of the match.
