FIVB President Looks to the Future at World Congress
CANCUN, Mexico, November 16, 2018 – FIVB President Dr Ary S.
Graça Fᵒ
spoke about his vision for the future of volleyball as he
addressed over 200 National Federations at the 36th FIVB World
Congress.
Having reached the midway point in President Ary Graça’s
mandate, the FIVB President took the opportunity to consider the
growth that volleyball has undergone in the last six years,
before highlighting the FIVB’s vision for the future.
As well as launching the inaugural edition of the Volleyball
Nations League (VNL) and successful editions of the 2014 and
2018 FIVB Volleyball World Championships, the Beach Volleyball
World Tour continues to go from strength to strength and
President Ary Graça also spoke about the successful development
of snow volleyball, as the FIVB continues to expand the sport to
brand new demographics.
President Ary Graça said:
“We have much to discuss over the next two days. Time to reflect
on the successes we have achieved as a team, but also time to
project; to look to the future and imagine the next steps for
our sport.
“We must ensure that volleyball remains one of the most exciting
and high quality sports in the world. We are creating the future
together.”
The FIVB President spoke of his desire to further innovation and
prioritise fan engagement, raising the quality and consistency
of events all over the world. President Ary Graça confirmed that
the FIVB will continue to invest in growing the sport globally
in order to provide world class content every day to volleyball
fans. |
