FIVB statement concerning potential future rule changes

February 17, 2026.- The FIVB is aware that preliminary materials concerning potential future rule changes have been circulating publicly. These materials reflect internal discussions and do not represent official decisions. At this stage, no official rule tests have been confirmed.

The FIVB continuously evaluates the sport and explores a variety of concepts through its Commissions and Councils. This exploratory work is essential for safeguarding the long-term fairness, integrity, and development of volleyball.

The FIVB remains fully committed to a structured, transparent and consultative process with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that any future tests serve the best interests of the sport and its athletes.
