FIVB
welcomes 14 major US host destinations
to
Volleyball House
December 6, 2025.- The FIVB recently welcomed 14 major USA host
destinations to the Volleyball House as part of a historic Sports
Events & Tourism Association (Sports ETA) visit to the Olympic
Capital of Lausanne.
The
visiting delegation included Sports ETA President & CEO John David
and representatives from Baltimore, Maryland; Boston, Massachusetts;
Cleveland, Ohio; Columbus, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Las Vegas,
Nevada; Miami, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; Phoenix, Arizona;
Portland, Oregon; Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina; Salt Lake City,
Utah; Washington, D.C.; and the State of Florida.
The
comprehensive visit began with a tour of the Volleyball House,
allowing the Sports ETA delegation to experience firsthand the
headquarters of the Global Volleyball Movement.
Following the tour, FIVB President Fabio Azevedo and Secretary
General Hugh McCutcheon presented the FIVB Strategic Vision 2032,
outlining the organization’s long-term goals and ambitions for
global volleyball growth. This was complemented by a detailed
presentation from Volleyball World Chief Business Officer Guido
Betti on the volleyball hosting ecosystem and future event
opportunities, offering valuable insights for the potential host
cities in attendance.
In
2027, the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship will head to
the USA and Canada for the first time in history. With the Olympic
Games LA28 set to be staged a year later, the region is entering an
exciting period for the sport.
This
historic meeting further strengthens the partnership between the
FIVB and leading USA sports destinations, paving the way for future
world-class volleyball events across North America. |
