Media workshop held in Nicaragua
MANAGUA, Nicaragua, February 15, 2012 - The FIVB Regional
Development Center in Dominican Republic in collaboration with
NORCECA Confederation and the Nicaragua Volleyball Federation
held a one-day media workshop in Managua, Nicaragua on the
occasion of the Beach Volleyball Continental Cup taking place in
the Central American country.
The workshop was directed by Roosevelt Comarazamy, NORCECA Press
Director, with the assistance of photographer Ernesto Beltre.
"This workshop forms part of the development program of NORCECA
Confederation and the main goal is to train journalists from
different parts of the world the way FIVB Press Operations work
in different world events," Comarazamy said. "The purpose is to
adjust the system to the local conditions but always following
general principles of reporting volleyball and beach volleyball
competitions."
Ms. Bertha Cuadra, President of the Nicaragua Volleyball
Federation, introduced Comarazamy to the participants from the
Nicaragua Sports Writers Association during the opening of the
workshop held at the heaquarters of the Nicaragua National
Olympic Committee.
The topics of the workshop included the organization of media
working rooms, press conference rooms, organization and
procedures for the press conference, match reports, match
descriptives, sideline stories, VIS forms, basic principles of
public relations and photography.
At the end of the six-hour workshop the participants had the
opportunity to exchange with both Comarazamy and Beltre about
their experience while covering international events of NORCECA
and FIVB.
"It was a great experience and we are looking forward to repeat
it in the future during the regional competitios on request from
the National Federations," Comarazamy said. |
