Unbeaten Teams Stay Strong in Men's
Beach Volleyball at Santo Domingo 2026
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 27, 2026. – Venezuela,
Costa Rica, the Cayman Islands, Puerto Rico, and Cuba all
preserved unbeaten records on Monday as the preliminary phase of
the men's beach volleyball tournament at the 25th Central
American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 reached its
third day.
In Pool A, Venezuela's Esyenser Delgado and Oscar Kirchner
remained unbeaten with a 2-0 (21-14, 21-9) victory over
Guatemala's José Izaguirre and Edgar Maldonado. Grenada's Darron
Oxford and Jonell Phillip had the day off.
Pool B featured two unbeaten duos improving to 2-0. Costa Rica's
Julián Araya and Stanley Grant defeated the U.S. Virgin Islands'
Cole Sommer and De-Andrae Taylor 2-0 (21-10, 21-9), while the
Cayman Islands' Jesario Ebanks and Dylan Lynee earned a 2-0
(21-18, 21-14) victory over Bermuda's Benjamín Barnett and
Connor Somerville.
Puerto Rico's William and Daniel Rivera also improved to 2-0 in
Pool C after defeating St. Kitts and Nevis' Elkreen Morton and
Zendai Richards 2-0 (21-7, 21-10). In the other Pool C match,
Honduras' Jairo Gálvez and Irven Reyes were awarded a victory by
injury default over Matinique’s Noah Choux and Elowan Choux.
In Pool D, Cuba's Damián Gómez and Eblis Veranes continued their
undefeated run with a 2-0 (21-8, 21-11) win over Trinidad and
Tobago's Miguel Jahreef and Jerome Morrison. Belize's Ernest
Broaster and Francis Hauze claimed their first victory of the
tournament by defeating Antigua and Barbuda's Miguel Peña and
Raenor Sharpe 2-0 (21-8, 21-11).
