Five countries have won the Men’s Pan Am Cup
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 24, 2019 – Cuba has
joined Brazil as countries with three crowns at the annual Men’s
Volleyball Pan American Cup recently disputed in Colima, Mexico.
United States lead the overall standings with 5 titles in the
intercontinental event with Argentina and Mexico completing the
winners’ circle with two and one titles, respectively.
Cuba won the gold medal by prevailing in a five-set duel with
Argentina which has visited the final match of the event in the
last five editions.
The United States, who missed only the second edition of the
event in 2007, won four titles in the first seven years,
including three in a row from 2008 to 2010. They won the
inaugural event in 2006 and last won it in 2012.
Argentina, winners of 2017 and 2018, has visited the gold medal
match of the event for the past five years.
Mexico and the Dominican Republic are the only countries present
in all the 14 editions of the Men’s Pan American Cup. |
