Five undefeated men's teams at the Fifth Stop of the 2024 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour

PUNTA CANA, Dominican Republic, October 2, 2024.- The Dominican duo Hayerling De Jesús/Rolvin Maldonado, the Virgin Islands team of Garrett Bucklin/William Clements, the Cuban pair Damián Gómez/Eblis Veranes, as well as both Canadian teams Tynan Gannett/Rouzbeh Rahnavard and Martin Licht/Robert Kemp won their two matches at the start of the Fifth Stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour 2024 on the sand courts set up at Los Corales Beach in Punta Cana.

De Jesús/Maldonado from the Dominican Republic defeated Bermuda’s Benjamin Barnnett/Sean Tucker 2-0 (21-14, 21-7), while their other match was a BYE.

The Virgin Islands team of Bucklin/Clements overcame Jamaica’s Ryck Webb/Martin Blake 2-0 (21-15, 21-11) and the Dominican duo Melvin De Jesús/Alexander Wilmore 2-0 (21-14, 21-9).

The other undefeated pairs are Canada's Gannett/Rahnavard, who defeated De Jesús/Wilmore (DOM) 2-0 (21-10, 21-14) and Webb/Blake (JAM) 2-0 (21-16, 21-10), while Licht/Kemp beat Alexander Meneses/Dany López from Nicaragua 2-0 (21-12, 21-14) and Guatemala's José Izaguirre/Mario Ventura 2-0 (21-6, 21-15). Meanwhile, Cuba's Gómez/Veranes defeated brothers Yoel and Christopher Guardado from El Salvador 2-0 (21-19, 21-17) and Lev Priima/David Wieczorek from the USA 2-1 (19-21, 21-14, 15-13).

The pool-play will conclude on Thursday morning, followed by the quarterfinals and the losers’ bracket in the afternoon.
