Former Queens, Jamaica, take Bronze
Nassau, The Bahamas, August 23, 2025.- The deposed 2023 CAZOVA
queens, Jamaica will not be returning home empty handed.
Jamaica captured the bronze in the Kendal GL Isaacs National
Gymnasium with a 25-10, 25-21, 25-23 win over Guadeloupe. After
being rolled over in the first set Guadeloupe fought much better and
actually led Jamaica before losing in straight sets.
Jamaican captain Sashalee Thomas led her team with 17 points spiced
with 12 kills while Mychael Vernon added 12 and Anesia Edwards 10.
Stephanie Sarmezan countered best for Guadeloupe with six kills.
In total Jamaica scored 30 kills to 22 from Guadeloupe, 13 blocks to
their opponents’ six and one more ace than Guadeloupe’s six.
However, Guadeloupe gained 19 points from the former queens’ errors
while Jamaica cashed in on 25 errors by Guadeloupe. |
