Forty-two participants in Coaches Course in Costa Rica
SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, September 17, 2013 – Forty-two
participants hailing from Panama, Guatemala, El Salvador, Chile,
Honduras and Costa Rica are taking part in a Level I Coaches
Course in San Jose, Costa Rica.
This course forms part of the development program of NORCECA
Confederation and its efforts to expand volleyball in all the
zones under its influence.
The Development Center in Dominican Republic is coordinating the
course as it continues to stage courses and seminars in key
geographical areas to offer less expensive costs to potential
participants.
“With this course in Costa Rica, our Development Center reaches
Central America and the participants can come using ground
transportation,” said Yoana Mota, vice director of the center,
during the opening ceremony.
The 13-day course is run under the leadership of the veteran
coach Jorge Pérez Vento, the former coach of Dominican Republic
women’s team who is the director, and Juan Cartagena, as the
instructor.
Present at the opening ceremony was William Corrales, Costa Rica
Minister of Sport, Marcela Urbina, Costa Rica Volleyball
Federation Vice-President, Claudio Chavez Picado, of Costa Rica
Sports Institute and Jorge Villalobos, former International
Referee and Member of the NORCECA Refereeing Commission. |
