Four NORCECA Women teams with 2-0 record guaranteed to move on in
Tlaxcala
TLAXCALA, Mexico, October 9, 2023.- With two wins, Americans Taryn
Kloth/Kristen Nuss, Sarah Hughes/Kelly Cheng and Julia Scoles/Betsi
Flint, and Canadians Brandie Wilkerson/Melissa Humana-Paredes are
guaranteed a spot in the Round of 32 in the 2023 Tlaxcala 2023 Beach
Volleyball World Championship.
With two wins in their first matches in Tlaxcala, the four teams are one
of the 12 women’s duos that clinched a spot in the elimination rounds of
the event one day ahead of time, on Sunday.

With still one match left to complete the preliminary round, Nuss/Kloth
and Hughes/Cheng, the numbers 2 and 3 ranked team of the event, lead
pool B and Ce respectively. Melissa/Brandie are on top of pool D and
Scoles/Flint of pool J.
Pool play concludes on Monday, with the last 24 matches (two in each
pool) completing the schedule for the opening round of the tournament.
At the end of the day, the 28 teams that will advance directly to the
Round of 32 and the eight that will have to play the ‘lucky loser’ round
will be known. The ‘lucky loser’ round will be played on Tuesday, ahead
of the Round of 32, on Wednesday.
