Four men's pairs start undefeated in Juan Dolio
JUAN DOLIO, Dominican Republic, June 19, 2026. – Four men's
pairs representing the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Cuba, and
Costa Rica remained undefeated at the start of the sixth stop of
the NORCECA Continental Beach Volleyball Tour, being held on the
sand courts installed on Juan Dolio beach.
In Group A, the Dominican pair Hayerling De Jesús/Oscar Martínez
secured two victories. They first defeated Joshua Ashby/Cael
Greenidge of Barbados 2-0 (21-12, 21-14) and then beat Zendai
Richards/Julian Bristol of St. Kittes & Nevis in straight sets
2-0 (21-12, 21-16).
In Group B, the Mexican pair Antonio Lares and Carlos Ayala
secured their first victory in a hard-fought three-set match
against Dominicans Alexander Wilmore and Ramón De Jesús 2-1
(20-22, 21-16, 15-11), and in their second match, they defeated
the Honduran duo Irving Reyes and Jairo Gálvez 2-0 (21-14,
21-15).
Meanwhile, in Group C, Cubans Eblis Veranes and Damián Gómez
dominated their matches, defeating Edgar Maldonado and José
Izaguirre of Guatemala 2-0 (21-8, 21-14) and Canadians Rouzbeh
Rahnavard and Robert Kemp 2-0 (21-13, 21-18).
In Group D, Costa Ricans Julián Araya and Yulius Brown
maintained their perfect record, defeating Puerto Ricans William
and Daniel Rivera in three sets 2-1 (21-14, 15-21, 15-13) and
Cayman Islands duo Jesario Ebanks and Dylan Lynne 2-0 (21-11,
21-12).
The tournament continues this Saturday starting at 8:00 a.m.
(local time) with the continuation of the preliminary round,
followed by the qualifying matches and the quarterfinals.
