Four players in double digits in Dominican triumph
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, September 2, 2016 - Defending champions
Dominican Republic had four players in double digits to beat
Barbados 3-0 in the Pool B action of NORCECA U-18 Championship.
Dominican Republic who won the title two years ago in Costa Rica
defeated the monarchs of CAZOVA (25-10, 25-13, 25-13).
Alexadre Ceccato, Dominican Republic’s coach said: "First match,
the girls were nervous committing some errors in the service.
Barbados is a team with potential, showed good moments in the
match. We need to be more consistent in the service”.
"It was a difficult game, we had problems mainly on the
reception. My team didn’t play bad defense, but there were
moments of inconsistency that affected us," said Shenner Pooler,
coach of Barbados.
Liliani Feliz led the Dominican offense with 15 points. Natalia
Martinez added 14, while Jasmine Guillen and Stephani González
contributed 10 points each. For Barbados, Ashley
Jordan finished four points. |
