Four teams chase one dream
ST JOHN’s, Antigua and Barbuda, August 22,
2019: Four teams- Bermuda, Saba, St Lucia and host Antigua
and Barbuda, will for the next four days, battle for honours
at the YMCA Complex, in the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball
Association (ECVA) Under-20 Female Volleyball Tournament.
The four are chasing one dream, to make that
next step, and be part of the 2020 NORCECA Inter-
Continental Championships.
All coaches expressed desire that their
charges will play their best Volleyball, and be the team to
qualify from among the four.
Coach of Bermuda, Gary LeBlanc: “We
have a lot experience to gain from this tournament and we
plan to keep our game at the fundamental level… My
expectation is that we are going to well… We come here to
play the game what we have trained for”.
Coach of Saba, Germaine Zimmerman:
“We are here to play the best Volleyball that we can… It is
a good experience for them as well as they have never been
outside of Saba to play Volleyball at this level, and they
are looking forward to it and give a good competition”.
Coach of St Lucia, Terry Verdant: “We
came here to win and I think we have a good chance of doing
so… We are going to do our best, as we will be playing to
our strength, which is attacking”.
Coach of Antigua and Barbuda, Rixon Joseph:
“We are playing at home and we are expected to do well…. I
am looking for a good standard of Volleyball from my players
and most of all, we are here to win”.
Bermuda and St Lucia opens Friday evening’s
action, with Saba and Antigua and Barbuda, thereafter.
